On the evening of Thursday, July 17th the Syracuse Region hosted an Anointing Mass at Stella Maris Retreat Center in Skaneateles, NY. Our chaplain, Father Ahern celebrated Mass and anointed all who were there in need of healing. Father Vavonese, who often accompanies the Order to Lourdes, concelebrated. In addition to the Knights and Dames there were twenty three malades and members of their families in attendance. Syracuse Annual Events
We have a yearly Defense of the Faith Forum, with such speakers as Dr. Robert George and Dr. Peter Kreeft. We also have an annual Day of Recollection at Christ the King Retreat House, a Healing Mass for former malades and companions at Stella Maris Retreat House, and our yearly Christmas Mass celebrated by Bishop Cunningham followed by a lovely dinner which all Knights and Dames attend.

Malta House/Malta Manor, assisted living residences where members put on monthly birthday parties and full Thanksgiving Dinners and other special occasion parties. Members take care of all financial responsibilities of these events.
Northside Ministries where all members prepare and cook a pancake breakfast once a month for approx. 200 to 300 disadvantaged people; (the financial responsibilites of these breakfasts are also provided by our members).
Also our member physicians and oral surgeons volunteer at the medical clinic each week or take care of the patients at their private practices.

About
The Syracuse Region of the Order of Malta is celebrating its 25th anniversary soon. There are 25 members and 3 candidates in preparation. Our chaplain is Fr. John Ahern and our Bishop Robert Cunningham was invested as Conventual Chaplain ad honorem in Oct. 2014.
Dennis Owen was the original member (1989). Noreen Falcone served on the Associations's Board of Directors, was Hospitaller and the first and only female President of the Federal Association.
Monthly Mass
First Friday Mass held every month with approx. 60 - 70 participants with a guest priest celebrating each month.
