Obsequium Pauperum

The Columbus Region of the Order of Malta has scheduled a service project to carry out the Order's mission of "obsequium pauperum;" care for the sick and poor. They made more than 400 sandwiches for the Saint Joseph's Cathedral sack lunch program for the poor on Saturday, December 14th at the Carter Center, Saint Brendan's Church, Hilliard. They have a significant need for sandwiches, and are distributing around 80 sack lunches a day which includes a sandwich, chips, apple and water. For more information, please contact the ...

Columbus Region Volunteer Day

The Columbus Region of the Federal Association of the Sovereign Military Hospitaller Order of St. John of Jerusalem of Rhodes and of Malta held a Volunteer Day at St. Brendan's Church in Columbus, Ohio on Saturday, September 14th, 2013. Over 450 sandwiches were made and delivered to the Cathedral downtown to be distributed to the poor and homeless.

Mass For The Sanctity Of Life

The Columbus Region of the Federal Association of the Sovereign Military Hospitaller Order of St. John of Jerusalem of Rhodes and of Malta held their annual Mass for the Sanctity of Life at St. John the Baptist Church in Columbus, Ohio on Friday, September 13th, 2013, followed by dinner at Café del Mundo.

There are 14 members of the Federal Association in the Columbus area. Robert Morosky was named the first Regional Hospitaller in 1999, succeeded by the late Dr. Frank Dono in 2003. The Most Reverend James Griffin, Bishop of Columbus (now retired) was invested as a Conventual Chaplain in 2000.
