Hospitaller Region - St. Joseph, MO
The St Joseph Haven – Knights and Dames purchase food and serve dinner the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month at 5PM. During the cold winter months, more than 70 hot meals are served.
Empty Bowls – Knights and Dames support a community-wide luncheon that raises funds for local charities, including Catholic Charities.
Partnering for Future Priests – Knights and Dames provide leadership and support for an annual dinner/auction benefitting Conception Seminary College. Nearly $200,000 has been raised in the first six years.
Monthly Mass – 7AM the first Wednesday of each month, usually at St. Francis Xavier Church, followed by a breakfast meeting. Monthly Masses have also been held at St. Munchin’s Church in Cameron, Missouri, and with the Benedictines of Mary, Queen of Apostles at the Priory of Our Lady of Ephesus in Gower, Missouri.
St. John the Baptist Mass – celebrated by Abbot Gregory. A dinner and new member recruitment presentation follow the Mass.
Annual Retreat – Conception Abbey, Conception, Missouri.
Ten Knights and Dames of the Order make up the St. Joseph Region, which turns ten years old in 2015! Frank O’Malley was the first Regional Hospitaller in 2005; he was succeeded in 2007 by Joseph Mazur, and in 2014 by William I. McMurray. David Howery serves as Regional Treasurer, and Abbot Gregory Polan, OSB, of Conception Abbey, is Conventual Chaplain.
