Feast of St. John the Baptist - Baltimore Region 2018

Celebration for the Feast of St. John the Baptist

Baltimore, MD - June 2018

On Tuesday, June 19th, the Baltimore Region met for its annual celebration of the Feast of St. John the Baptist.  The celebration began with a Mass at Saints Philip and James Roman Catholic Church. The celebrant for the Mass was His Excellency William E. Lori, Archbishop of Baltimore and Conventual Chaplain ad honerum . He was joined by concelebrants Monsignor Richard Cramblitt, Magistral Chaplain, Monsignor Richard Woy, Associate Chaplain, and Father Louis Bianco.

Archbishop Lori’s moving homily focused on how each of us has a “St. John the Baptist” in our lives that has made straight the road before us leading to Christ. He gave us an example of how then, Msgr. William Curlin, was his “John the Baptist” while he was in Seminary.  Moreover, he shared how Bishop Curlin continued to inspire Archbishop Lori through the rest of his life. The Archbishop encouraged us all to live our lives in such a way so we might be someone else’s “John the Baptist.”

After the beautiful Mass, the Baltimore Region gathered for dinner and fellowship at the Johns Hopkins Club.  Regional Hospitaller, Rob Rogers, encouraged the members to focus their attention on identifying new prospective members for attendance at our upcoming New Candidates Reception which is being held this fall on October 7, 2018. The Celebration served as a close to a productive year for the Baltimore Region on a very high note.
